October gaming revenue in Nevada surpasses $1.3 billion
The state of Nevada's October revenue was more than $1.28 billion in 2022 and was 3.9% more than $1.27 billion in September of this year. Additionally, the state's market had its biggest October revenue total ever.
The majority of October's $894.9 million came from slot machines. Comparatively, this was up 2.0% from the same month a year before.
At $527.8m, an increase of 16.3% for the month, multi-denomination slots accounted for the largest share of total revenue. By the way, aside from penny slots, nearly every other type of slot machine saw a loss in income, with a total of $271.9 million lost.
The game of baccarat is booming in Nevada.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board said that table, counter, and card gaming revenue increased slightly by 4.2% to $420.3 million. The continued expansion of the baccarat market contributed to this, as revenue increased by 35.3% to $89.8m.
The majority of the money won from table, counter, and card games came from blackjack, or 21. But with a 12.6% year-on-year decline, these games' income came to $114.1m.
Gains from craps increased by 8.2% to $40.4m, while gains from roulette were 4.2% to $34.5m. In October, the revenue for Ultimate Texas Hold 'em dropped 13.9% to $13.5m, while the revenue for three-card poker dropped 5.6% to $10.0m.
NFL wagers increase sports pool earnings by 19.8 percent
In Nevada, sports pool betting is also included in the table, counter, and card game section. Here, sales came in at $61.1m, up 19.8% from the previous year.
The sports pool made $48.3 million in October from wagers on football. Sports betting brought in $9.5 million, $3.2 million from basketball, and $2.2 million from ice hockey. Parlay cards contributed another $1.5 million, and the other $3.5 million went towards other sports.
In addition, the Nevada Gaming Control Board found that mobile betting accounted for 35.1 million of the total sports pool revenue in October.
October brings in $714 million for the Las Vegas Strip.
In October, 54.3% of Nevada's gambling income came from the Las Vegas Strip. Compared to the same month in 2022, this sum was 1.2% higher.
Revenue from strip slots fell 1.1% to $406.0m, while revenue from table, counter, and card games increased 4.4% to $308.5m. Among the latter, $89.8 million came from baccarat and $87.3 million from 21.
With $10.8 million coming from mobile betting, the Strip's sports pool saw a 27.9 percent increase to $26.9 million.
