Plans to open Caesars' first site in Nebraska revealed
Caesars claims their new thoroughbred racecourse will be Nebraska's longest, and their 28,000 square foot casino will have fourteen tables, a sportsbook and more than 500 slot machines.
Caesars has announced that it will build a temporary casino at Columbus's Ag Park by the end of spring as part of the redevelopment.
Guests will be able to watch and wager on horse races from all around the globe through the temporary casino's simulcast offering, which has over 200 slot machines. The venue will also be a part of Caesars Rewards, so customers can earn points redeemable at any of Caesars' North American properties.
According to Caesars, the new Harrah's Columbus, NE Racing & Casino is set to open next year, pending all necessary clearances.
The one-mile racecourse, built by Caesars, will be a welcome addition to Columbus's long tradition of horse racing, according to Joe Morris, senior vice president of racing for the company.
"We are excited to welcome Columbus to the track once it's complete," said Caesars Entertainment, "and we are committed to bringing the best offerings to the casino guests and fans of racing in the area."
Also, "We're pleased to bring a brand-new destination to the great state of Nebraska," said Todd Connelly, regional president of Caesars. We have been working tirelessly to make this a reality because it is a significant milestone for the organisation.
We are grateful for the support of the local community and the presence of our partners at today's event. When we open our doors in 2024, we can't wait to meet everyone, including those in Columbus and beyond.
